Seeking Creative co-leasers
In order to keep our new bigger space we have to share it! We must continue to find at least other co-leasers. If you or someone you know are seeking a 10ft x 10ft office space with a shared meeting space and kitchen in a very cool industrial building in the Mill District, give us a call or swing by to check out the space. Only $320 per month and a $300 security deposit takes care of your rent and bills. Wireless internet is shared among co-leasers for $15 per month. To read more about the space and see photos visit:
Basement Creative Collective features and benefits

New Location!
We have a new home! We have moved to 525 South School Avenue to the basement suite of the Mill Building in Fayetteville. The building is between Nightbird Books and Wilma's. This is just 2 blocks east of our original space.
Little Mountain Bindery will continue to reside at 572 West 6th Street. The new phone number there is (479) 587-0238. It has been great to share space with another creative start-up! It was just what we both needed to get our feet on the ground. We wish Lesha Shaver and her new roommate Nichelle Wilson-Parish the best in their book arts ventures!
Here´s to the new year, our new spaces and new collaborations! Swing by both to see what new inspirations await you!

Diggiti 2007 at Fayetteville Art Festival

We are still working on putting together the collection of digital work we collected at the 2007 Fayetteville Art Festival. So, we have decided that it is a good idea to at least feature a new work every month on our home page. We will keep you posted when the entire collection is ready. This month´s featured piece was probably created by Travis Mansell since we asked participants to save creations with their name.
All the diggiti pieces were created with a Graphire Wacom (digital pen) and Adobe Photoshop CS3.

Defrag at 2007 Fayetteville Art Festival

If you attended the 2007 Fayetteville Art Festival, you were greeted with Defrag, an installation by New Design Center founder, Sonia Gutiérrez. A very special thanks to Mike Davis, Angie Carpenter, Cat Kim, Bethany Springer, Dwight Chalmers, Lyla Morrison, Alice McKee, Marcos Gutiérrez and Fayetteville Downtown Partners for helping to realize Defrag.

What is art?
Are you ready to ask yourself this question?
The City of Fayetteville has instituted the first ever Fayetteville Art Council. This council would be responsible for a city-wide public art policy.
How can we discuss public art policy without delving into the question, "what is art?"
New Design Center, New Design School and 3c21 Design define art as all that is not nature. Art is a physical manifestation created by humans. Like most things, there is no black and white to this definition. The lines between art and nature are fuzzy. What about the environment? Is the environment not a product of humans?
If you have an opinion on the definition of art, let us know by sending us an email info@newdesigncenter.org.
