Objectives and Purposes

• Teach the community art and design fundamentals;
• Foster an inspiring and encouraging learning environment for all levels of digital art and visual design;
• Develop the community´s creative, technical and business skills required for excellence in digital art and visual design processes;
• Seek, embrace, and serve the digital art and design development needs of our diverse community;
• Be a resource for digital artists and visual designers in our community;
• Encourage, empower and teach the community to utilize their computer as a tool for creativity;
• Offer and teach visual communication skills through forward-thinking art, design and technology training;
• Train the community in the software used for digital art and visual design;
• Help individuals develop and identify their unique creative processes;
• Increase and improve the visual vocabulary and visual communication of the community;
• Create a more informed community as a result of improved visual communication skills;
• Raise awareness in the community of the ubiquity of art and design;
• Offer excellent programming in the areas of or involving digital art and design including performance art, audio, video and installation art;
• Connect community members with digital art and visual design professionals in their community and region;
• Connect the business community with emerging and practicing digital art and visual design professionals in their community and region;
• Connect digital art and visual design professionals with one another;
• Provide the community with a place to learn about design professions and;
• Provide the community a place that encourages collaboration with and among artists and designers .
